Day 1
Examination, Homework, & Therapy
Your experience starts with an intensive history and examination focusing on six key body systems: Structure, Dietary, Proprioceptive/Vestibular/Ocular, Autonomics, Pain, and Cognition. By assessing these systems, we can identify how the systems in your body work together, compensate to pain, and respond to various testing. If we end up being a good fit for each other, we will find practical ways to meet your goals.
What We Look For:
Our bones and joints support our entire body and allow us to stand up straight and do the things we love. Our spine is the main conduit for every action in our body.
Whether you feel like you are on a boat or stuck in a room spinning, these systems playing a crucial role in balance, ability to focus, and walk in a straight line.
Brain fog, fatigue, and inability to resist certain urges are all associated with with Frontal Lobe. Cognitive dysfunction can reduce a person's ability to suppress pain and lead to anxiety and depression.
Testing this system gives us a window into the function of your hypothalamus and brain stem. Heart rate, respiratory rate, digestion, and pupillary response helps us determine how your "automatic" system is running.
An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Pain is processed in the frontal lobe and limbic regions of the brain.
Digestion is the process of breaking down food into substances for absorption in the blood stream. Fats, carbs, proteins, and micronutrients are important inputs into the digestive system. We ultimately become what we eat.
